Angela Tucker, RD, CDE
I am a Registered Dietitian living in rural Manitoba, Canada, and I am a vegan.
I first went vegan for compassionate reasons, but soon realized all the other ways this lifestyle can positively impact the planet and my own health. Becoming vegan was one of the catalysts that initially set me on the career path to nutrition and health, so naturally I am passionate about vegan/plant-based nutrition. Some of other various things that have a special place in my heart include yoga, art (painting, photography, drawing, music), gardening, cooking, reading, writing, and DIY projects.
My philosophy on food and nutrition in simple: 1. Enjoy foods closest to the way nature made them, and 2. Eat mindfully, thinking about nourishing potential of food as well as the the way that it was made.
I love nutrition because it is one of those things that can be incredibly simple yet seem ridiculously complex all at the same time. There is a lot of information out there, and sometimes it can be hard to know what to believe. But the truth is always hidden somewhere.
This space was created for sharing credible information to support those interested in learning more about the vegan/plant-based lifestyle (as well as other random notions on health, wellness, and food systems that might be dancing around my head at the time). Whether you are a long-time vegan, or just wanting to find out more about plant-based eating, it is my intention that you will find something here that will benefit you in some way.
Following my interest in mental health, I am currently working my way through a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology so that I can work as a psychotherapist.
Feel free to follow my posts, like my Facebook page, or send me a message here. I would love to hear from you.
Take care <3
